A day long workshop on Race and Systemic Bias in Arctic sciences will be held as part of Arctic Sciences Summit Week (March 26th 2022 in Tromso, Norway).
We have funding available for early career researchers to participate in this workshop. Please see the application form for information on eligibility and the conference website for more details.

The Arctic Research Consortium of the U.S. (ARCUS) invites applications for the Early Career Conference Funding Award. The Early Career Conference Funding Award supports U.S.-based, early career researchers and students to participate in virtual meetings and events relevant to Arctic research.
We are happy to announce that the abstract submission for the Student for Student Summer School, which takes place from 5-9 of September 2022, is now open. Abstract submission closes 16 February. This community might especially be interested in the sessions of the Glacier, Climate, Hydro focus group.
Read more ...The School of Ice is an NSF-funded professional development program for faculty at Minority Serving Institutions. This program will train participants to understand paleoclimate evidence derived from ice cores and acquire the skills necessary to bring this exciting inquiry into new and existing Earth and environmental science classes on their campuses. The experiential nature of this workshop will build background knowledge of cutting-edge research and empower participants to communicate authentic paleoclimate research practices, ice core data, and results to their students.
There will be two opportunities to attend the School of Ice this summer.

The International Conference for YOUNG Marine Researchers - ICYMARE (www.icymare.com) is a bottom-up initiative by volunteers and offers a powerful and inspiring international set-up for an excellent network opportunity and some first conference experience. ICYMARE is organized by and for young marine researchers based at the “Bremen Society for Natural Sciences from 1864”. The next in-person conference, ICYMARE 2022 BREMERHAVEN, will take place 13 to 16 September 2022 at the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven, Germany.

Join us for a multi-day workshop to participate in sessions and activities about effective teaching strategies, course design, establishing a research program in a new setting, working with research students, balancing professional and personal responsibilities, and time management. The workshop is a great way to connect with other early-career geoscience faculty and includes an optional virtual visit to NSF to learn about funding opportunities and meet with program officers.

This workshop will be dedicated to Polar Access Fund grantees and other early-career researchers about the co-production of knowledge. We will discuss best practices and practical tips for scientists from all disciplines wishing to share and integrate knowledge or co-design methodologies with local/indigenous communities.
The event will be held on Tuesday 25 January 2022, 14:00-15:30 on Zoom.
Please note that senior scientists are very welcome to attend the event!
