Are you a young professional, university student, or early-career scientist passionate about climate change and the cryosphere? This is a unique opportunity to get involved in an international event and make a tangible impact by contributing to the success of the Cryosphere Pavilion at UNOC3.

We welcome applications from individuals eager to collaborate, learn, and connect with experts and decision-makers in the field of climate science and cryosphere preservation.

We are thrilled to announce that the Cryosphere Pavilion side event application process for UNOC3 in Nice, France (May 28 – June 14, 2025) is now open! Link to apply is at the end of this text.

The Cryosphere Pavilion, funded by the Fondation Albédo pour la Cryosphère, is on a vital mission to bring the cryosphere’s message to the world. Through this initiative, we seek to highlight the people dedicated to the study, exploration, and preservation of the cryosphere, while inspiring the next generation and engaging decision-makers in its urgent preservation. The Cryosphere Pavilion aims to celebrate the International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation 2025 and the upcoming Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences 2025-2034.

The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR)’s research programme Ant-ICON (Integrated Science to Inform Antarctic and Southern Ocean Conservation) is pleased to announce an interdisciplinary workshop on The Future of Antarctic and Southern Ocean Conservation in a Changing Climate.

This workshop aims to develop a roadmap providing the science needed to address Antarctic conservation priorities, focusing on those identified by the Committee for Environmental Protection (CEP). It seeks to strengthen the science-policy interface and drive tangible conservation progress through interdisciplinary collaboration between social and natural sciences.

Applications are open for students and Teaching Assistants for the third edition of our Computational Tools for Climate Science course, taking place July 14th - 25th, 2025! This global program introduces computational methods for climate science. Students will learn cutting-edge techniques from climate experts, apply them through hands-on Python tutorials, and collaborate on research projects using real-world and modeled data to explore the social and environmental impacts of climate change. Like in previous editions of the Living Planet Symposium, ESA is coordinating these grants on behalf of the European Commission as a part of the EU–ESA Copernicus Programme cooperation.

These student grants are open to  full-time MSc, PhD student or a Postdoc researcher in a university in one of the EU member states or Copernicus participating state.

At the Earth Science Women’s Network they are aware that there are many stressors on the Earth Sciences community at the moment. They know this may be having a negative impact, and presenting unexpected and unprecedented challenges.

Applications for the KOPRI Fellowship Program 2025 are now open. The program offers two fellowship schemes:

- KOPRI Antarctic Fellowship Program

Open to early career scientists from Chile or New Zealand who wish to visit and conduct research at KOPRI for up to three months

- KOPRI Asia Fellowship Program

Open to early career scientists from Asian countries who wish to visit and conduct research at KOPRI for up to three months.
