Job Board
- Postdoctoral Researcher
The Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, USA, has an opening for Postdoctoral Scholar or Researcher that will assist with the processing, accuracy analyses and Earth Science applications of stereophotogrammetric Digital Surface Models (DSMs) as part of multiple projects.
The primary research activity is to develop methods for obtaining high-resolution, time evolving DSMs from commercial satellite constellations, including Planet Inc. and MAXAR, on high-performance computing platforms. These will be evaluated using ground control and air and spaceborne LiDAR datasets. Science applications include hydrology, earth hazards, impact crater identification and cryosphere. Desired experience includes fundamentals of stereophotogrammetry and satellite remote sensing, including imaging geometry, image and DSM coregistration, bundle adjustment and filtering methods.
Required skills:
Programming skill (c/c++ for implementing the developed algorithm into SETSM software), satellite Image processing experience (if available, but not necessary, stereo-photogrammetry experience).
