- Postdoctoral Researcher
The Department of Geoscience, Aarhus University, invites applications for a 2.5-year postdoc position offering applicants an exciting opportunity to work with seismic mapping and glacial seismic stratigraphy around Greenland in order to infer 1) long-term ice-sheet evolution and 2) quantify depositional volumes to assess glacial landscape evolution in Greenland.
The postdoctoral researcher will be part of a newly established research group working to assess and quantify long-term ice-sheet evolution and glacial landscape formation in Greenland since ice-sheet inception. More broadly, the project aims to understand the influence of erosion and deposition on solid- Earth deformation, ice-sheet stability, and sea-level change.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Earth sciences, geophysics or similar. The applicant should have proven research experience and academic publications within seismic mapping and seismic stratigraphy. The ideal candidate has experience with glacial seismic stratigraphy around Greenland or other ice-sheet settings.
The desired starting date is September 1, 2023.
