A 12-month postdoc position is available to work on the project “Empowering next-generation sea-ice models with wave–ice mathematics” at the University of Adelaide. The project aims to deliver a vital component in next-generation sea-ice models, by modelling ocean waves in the ice-covered ocean, and implementing it in a large-scale sea-ice model. The postdoc will work in a multi-disciplinary team to incorporate theory developed during the early stages of the project into the CICE6 sea ice model, run pan-Antarctic simulations and analyse outputs. The postdoc will be encouraged to write research articles and participate in conferences. We are looking for candidates with quantitative skills and experience with numerical models.

Preferred start date: June/July 2023.
