The Polar and Alpine Science group in Lancaster Environment Centre are pleased to announce that we are advertising three funded PhD studentships through the NERC Doctoral Landscape Award in Exascale Computing for Earth, Environmental, and Sustainability Solutions (ExaGEO) and three funded PhD studentships through the Net Zero Polar Science (NZPS) Doctoral Training Partnership:

Successful candidates will join a thriving glaciology community at Lancaster University, as well as the UK Centre for Polar Observation and Modelling and the Lancaster University-UKCEH Centre of Excellence in Environmental Data Science. They will have extensive opportunities to collaborate with glaciologists, climate scientists, and data scientists, and to interact with international agencies such as the European Space Agency. 
Informal enquiries from prospective applicants welcome, the deadline for NZPS is the 7th January 2026 and the deadline for ExaGEO is the 9th January 2026.
