The SFU Glaciology Group seeks to recruit one or more postdoctoral fellows to work in areas of mutual interest/expertise, including in any of our active research areas:

• Basal processes and ice-flow instabilities including glacier surges
• Glacier change in northern Canada and associated hazards
• Glacier mass balance and hydrology in Arctic environments
• Accumulation processes in complex glacierized terrain
• Statistical emulation of glaciological models

Provisional appointment details:
The postdoctoral award is valued at $60,000 (CAD) per year, inclusive of benefits, with a duration of one year, renewable for a second year, conditional upon funding and performance. Start date: Flexible, preferably by 1 Mar 2027

Qualifications:

• PhD in glaciology, Earth sciences, physics or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in research area(s) relevant to themes above
• A publication record that includes accepted and/or published lead-authored papers in peer reviewed international scientific journals
• Strong programming and analytical skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
