Arête Glacier Initiative is hiring a Program Scientist to join our growing team!

Arête is a philanthropically funded nonprofit focusing on West Antarctica's potential contribution to sea level rise. We work to improve sea-level projections through observations and models. We also research intervention strategies aimed at slowing ice loss from WAIS. 

The Program Scientist will serve as a critical bridge between the broader glaciological community and Arête's internal leadership, science, and technical teams. This work includes:

• Representing Arête's mission and core values at conferences and workshops 
• Helping manage the external grant portfolio, from outreach to proposal review to grantee support
• Writing technical reports, proposals, and public-facing science communications
• Working with the Chief Scientist, Deputy Scientist, Field Logistics Coordinator, and CTO to plan field deployments, including in Antarctica
