2011-02-08

The media can serve as a tool to amplify communication of your work, or it can accidently distort your research results when translating it into layman's terms. This webinar will help you work productively with the Media.

Recorded on 8 February, 2011.

This video is part of an online lecture series coordinated by APECS, US NSF ARCSS Thermokarst Project, and the University of Canterbury to help early career polar researchers navigate their careers. For more information on the full series, visit apecs.is/webinars.

Presenter: David Vaughan, British Antarctic Survey

David Vaughan is a climate scientist at the British Antarctic Survey. His research focus is the role of ice sheets in the Earth system and the societal threat of climate change and rising sea levels. He is a coordinating Lead Author of the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report. His research work includes the mapping of the bed under Pine Island Glacier and the discovery of a subglacial volcano.
