Sarah Hissa is a Master's student at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. In this presentation she is introducing her research project about "Antarctic Time".

This presentation is part of the APECS Discipline of the Month - Social Sciences in June 2011.

Social sciences is the umbrella term of the study of human society and of individual relationships within and to society in it broadest meaning - generally including sociology, psychology, anthropology, economics, political science, gender studies, tourism, history and archeology. Polar social sciences largely focus on topics such as social change, community development, human-environment interactions, legal issues and polar policy and many more.

The APECS Research Activity Committee dedicated the month of June in 2011 to Social Sciences.
