Arctic PASSION Online Seminar on AI meets an Accessible Arctic Air Quality Forecast

In this online seminar, Arctic PASSION is introducing its Air Quality Forecast for Arctic Communities (AURORAE) Service: https://aurorae.azurewebsites.net/. The AURORAE service is a web interface to monitor the air quality of the North European countries on a daily basis. It is providing a two-day forecast of particulate matter concentrations developed through an Artificial Intelligence (AI) model.
The website offers an interactive map showing air pollution concentration and near-real-time forecast at hourly resolution for over 100 sites in Northern Europe, highlighting projected air quality conditions at each station. A daily bulletin reporting the forecast for all stations will be also released on a daily basis to provide a broad overview of air pollution status for Northern communities.
Accessible air quality forecasts can help citizens and policy-makers with informed decision making about their health, safety, and environmental protection. In this online seminar we will present and demonstrate the new forecast service and discuss it with the audience. This seminar was part of the Arctic PASSION Online Seminar and Dialogue Series. This series is a tool to communicate project’s topics, share ideas, plans and results, and to initiate an inclusive and proactive dialogue with people from different groups, backgrounds and career levels. It is targeted to Arctic and Indigenous Youth, Early Career Scientists and other interested audiences.
