Ice Core Young Scientists (ICYS) is happy to announce a new international ice-core seminar series starting February 25th, with the support of the International Partnership in Ice Core Sciences (IPICS).
We will be holding monthly seminars each with two talks, one from a senior researcher, followed by an early-career researcher (ECR) in a similar research theme. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
The series aims to provide much needed scientific interactions between researchers at all stages in their careers, especially given the cancellation of in-person conferences at this time.
Our first seminar will take place on February 25th at 19:00 – 20:00 UTC:
- Mass spectrometry under the ice - Carlo Barbante (Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Italy).
- High res = high gain? New frontiers in ice core trace element analysis with laser ablation ICP-MS - Pascal Bohleber (Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Italy).
We will also be hearing more details on the new DEEPICE training network:
- DEEPICE: A new research & training network on understanding proxies from Antarctic deep ice - Emilie Capron (Institut des Geosciences et de l’Environment (IGE), France).
