IGS Global Seminar #62 - Ingrid Reiweger
Wednesday 15 September 2021
Location Online

Northern hemisphere summer is drawing to a close... Southern hemisphere is in springtime... so IGS Global seminars are about to start again!

International Glaciological Society Global Seminar Series 2021 #62

Sept 15th Ingrid Reiweger, Institute of Mountain Risk Engineering, Vienna: "Snow Avalanche Release"

You need to register in advance for the seminars, but your registration should last for several seminars. In order to register you also need have an account with zoom. Apologies for this, it's a preventative measure to stop zoom bombing. You can also watch the seminars on Facebook Live or on our YouTube channel.

If it was a while ago that you registered - please check your link still works. To do this - just click it and you should get a message that the meeting hasn't been started yet. If you can't get it to work, drop me an email and I will try to help. There's a short question to answer - please tell me enough to accept you! I'll be doing that manually, so just be kind and make it obvious (even if I met you once at AGU)… (something like: I'm a PhD student with X... or whatever). Using your official university email address would make my life particularly easy! https://tinyurl.com/yyhbcqrq

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the seminar.

  • Sept 22nd David Rounce, Carnegie Mellon University, "Projecting global glacier mass change through 2100 with the Python Glacier Evolution Model (PyGEM)"
  • Sept 29th Romain Millan, IGE Grenoble, "Ice velocity mapping of the world's glaciers helps to reconcile the ice thickness distribution with glacier dynamics"
  • October 6th Three shorter talks:
