G.K. Agney is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History, Mar Thoma College, Thiruvalla, India and is also a research scholar (PhD) in the Post Graduate Department of History, Assumption College, Changanacherry, India. He is also a recipient of the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) instituted by the University Grants Commission, Ministry of Human Resource Development; Government of India. He is currently working as an Expert in SCAR HASSEG and Commission Member of Commission on Eduation and Communiation of IUCN. He is also one of architects of International Journal of Polar Social Research and Review (ISSN2617-2453). His areas of competency include Climate Change, with special reference to the Indian Subcontinent; Climate Change regimes and Heritage studies. He has functioned as a delegate representing India in the first NUALS Environment Model United Conference-2014, held in India, on the theme of Climate change and the fate of small island nations. He is also an active member and volunteer of many International organisations like UNESCO World Heritage Centre, International Critical Heritage Geography Group, American Association of Geographers, Conservation International, World Environment Organisation and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), which mainly focuses on sustainability and Conservation of the Environment and Preservation of our rich heritage. He is currently undertaking cutting edge research to place the dynamics of climate change in a historical pedestal.  His Antarctic interests relate to Climate Change and resultant changes in biodiversity, survival strategies, temperature and geographical extent of the polar region and the conservation of Historical Sites and Monuments in Antarctic region.
