Russia in the Arctic Dialogue: Local and Global Context | Forum to be held in Arkhangelsk, 25-27 May 2022.

The Northern Arctic Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov is pleased to announce the International Forum of Young Scientists 2022.

This year the Forum welcomes PhD, Master and Bachelor students and is held under the auspices of the Russia’s Chairmanship at the Arctic Council 2021-2023 and aligns with its priority areas: Arctic people, including indigenous peoples of the North; environmental protection and climate change issues; socio-economic development of the region and strengthening the Arctic Council.

The Antarctic Tourism Action Group (Ant-TAG) is looking for researchers working on Antarctic tourism or an adjacent field to participate in the group's activities.

The SCAR INSTANT Scientific Research Program "Instability and Threshold in Antarctica" is funding 4 scholarships to Early Career Researchers.

The goal of SCAR INSTANT fellowships is to increase the engagement of Early Career Researcher in INSTANT activities and to promote participation of scientists from regions currently under-represented in INSTANT, i.e., South America, Asia and Africa.

A day long workshop on Race and Systemic Bias in Arctic sciences will be held as part of Arctic Sciences Summit Week (March 26^th 2022 in Tromso, Norway).

We have funding available for early career researchers to participate in this workshop. Please see the application form for information on eligibility and the conference website for more details.

The Arctic Research Consortium of the U.S. (ARCUS) invites applications for the Early Career Conference Funding Award. The Early Career Conference Funding Award supports U.S.-based, early career researchers and students to participate in virtual meetings and events relevant to Arctic research.

The School of Ice is an NSF-funded professional development program for faculty at Minority Serving Institutions. This program will train participants to understand paleoclimate evidence derived from ice cores and acquire the skills necessary to bring this exciting inquiry into new and existing Earth and environmental science classes on their campuses. The experiential nature of this workshop will build background knowledge of cutting-edge research and empower participants to communicate authentic paleoclimate research practices, ice core data, and results to their students.

There will be two opportunities to attend the School of Ice this summer.

The Greenland Ice Sheet Ocean Science (GRISO) network will host the first GRISO Summer School in Nuuk, Greenland during July 11-23, 2022. The topic is Impacts of glacier retreat on Greenland coastal margins.

The International Conference for YOUNG Marine Researchers - ICYMARE (www.icymare.com) is a bottom-up initiative by volunteers and offers a powerful and inspiring international set-up for an excellent network opportunity and some first conference experience. ICYMARE is organized by and for young marine researchers based at the “Bremen Society for Natural Sciences from 1864”. The next in-person conference, ICYMARE 2022 BREMERHAVEN, will take place 13 to 16 September 2022 at the University of Applied Sciences Bremerhaven, Germany.
