Polar Outreach Catalogue

Youth Science Canada is undertaking a number of initiatives to encourage student interest in polar science. Polar Innovation Week was held March 21-28, 2009 and included the launch of a new website which brings together resources for educators related to Arctic science. Polar excursions are also being offered to one student from each province and territory who exemplifies exceptional interest in Arctic science. These students are awarded opportunities to travel to the Arctic and observe and to conduct his or her own supervised studies. Other students can also apply for a $500 research grant through Youth Science Canada to create an innovative polar science project with the aim of displaying their project at regional science fairs in 2010 and culminating in the Canada-Wide Science Fair.
