This is Turtle Island is a new environmental TV show for kids. The series is hosted by two Mtis brothers, Chuck and Andy Clment, who travel across Canada and discover its wonders. In each of the thirteen episodes, Chuck and Andy go on adventures to meet scientists and Aboriginal elders and learn about the significance of IPY research. All the episodes include a feature about an IPY project and its participants, which help make the connection between science and traditional knowledge and emphasize why being environmentally conscious is fun. In addition, one entire episode entitled ?Top of the World? focuses on their amazing Arctic journey with the Students on Ice expedition. This is Turtle Island is broadcast on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN), Saskatchewan Communications Network (SCN) and ACCESS Television. The show has a website where viewers can participate in follow-up discussions.
