Polar Outreach Catalogue

Throughout the International Polar Year, CNRS Images, the audiovisual department of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), dedicated most of its production capacity to promote polar scientific research through film and photography. Through our online tools, the photo library (http://phototheque.cnrs.fr) and the video library (http://videotheque.cnrs.fr) we emphasized the existing material which had also a patrimonial value. We collected new pictures often made by scientists themselves which were used for different kind of communication product and we produced or coproduced documentaries broadcasted on TV or edited on DVD. And we launched our first video podcast mini-series on the web.
