Polar Outreach Catalogue

The Carlson IPY Events included public lectures, interdisciplinary seminars, a film series, art exhibitions, and award ceremonies. All events were used to promote knowledge about the polar regions. The series was co-sponsored by administrative units from throughout the University, and by the American Geographical Society. The University's Office of Communications & Marketing was involved in all events through a wide variety of media. Educational outreach was achieved through the University's Academy of Lifelong Learning, the State of Delaware's Department of Education, and curricular efforts by local schoolteachers.
