ANDRILL-ARISE (ANDRILL Research Immersion for Science Educators)
- Educators, Teachers
Teachers from Germany, Italy, New Zealand and the USA accompanied a multi-disciplinary science team to Antarctica where they used their experiences to develop teaching resources and experiences they then shared with their classrooms and fellow educators.
By including science educators in ANDRILL's field research discipline teams, teachers collaborate with their colleagues and the scientists to develop mechanisms and materials to connect ANDRILL science to the public. The program provides science educators with a first hand view of authentic science in action and an in-depth understanding of the process and nature of science. Educators use their expertise to design and implement innovative approaches to geoscience education and public outreach.
