Tara Expeditions is a non-profit program directed by Etienne Bourgois, chief executive officer of Agnès b, a French fashion brand. It was initiated in 2003, thanks to the brand’s founder and her determination to commit herself to the planet’s remediation. Tara Oceans is its current expedition. Tara’s voyages are dedicated to scientific research on the impact of global warming on the oceans, with two basic objectives: 1) to serve as a platform for scientific research by exploring previously unreachable ocean locations, and< 2) to raise public awareness of scientific & environmental ocean characteristics, through ongoing reports on its adventurous voyages.
