The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation in cooperation with the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) are excited to announce the recipients of the 2024 IASC Fellowship Program.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the IASC Fellowship program in 2024, ten successful early career researchers were identified for all available fellowships. APECS coordinated the application and review process; recommendations from APECS based on the peer review process were delivered for final selection to the IASC Working Group Chairs and the SAON Leadership. The reviewers were impressed by the excellent quality of the applications.

In an effort towards advancing academic research and fostering excellence among Early Career Researchers (ECRs), APECS Canada teamed up with the journal Arctic Science for the creation of an ECR Reviewer Program. The initiative aims to empower young scholars by providing them with opportunities to engage in the peer review process, enhancing their skills and contributing to the academic community.

What puts the wind in your sails? The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS), Women of the Arctic (WoA) and Women in Polar Science (WiPS) have teamed up to offer this event which brings together a diverse group of ocean leaders from across the Arctic.

APECS is seeking an additional Representative Coordinator (RC) to join the Council leadership team from March to June 2024. As a RC, you will coordinate the announcement and application process for ECR opportunities and APECS Representative positions amongst partner organizations of APECS. Note that this position requires a degree of commitment (around 1 hour/week), so please consider if you have the time to fulfil this role before applying.

In coordination with the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS), Antarctic Science Ltd. is running a webinar to help potential applicants of 2024 Antarctic Science International Bursary. This bursary runs every year and is for up to £6000 to support PhD or early career researchers to extend the scope of an existing research project.
