The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists Italy (APECS Italy) is pleased to invite you to the VII National Conference, which will be held at the University Library of Genoa on 6–7 November 2025.
This year, in celebration of the International Year of Glacier Preservation, proclaimed by UNESCO and WMO on January 21, 2025, the conference will be officially dedicated to this theme and will feature a special talk on glacier conservation.
The event represents an important opportunity for dialogue and sharing among Italian early-career researchers active in polar sciences. In addition to presentations by young scholars working across the country, the conference will also host experts and professionals in the field who will share their knowledge and experiences.
General Information
Participant presentations may cover any topic (i.e., they do not have to be related to the main theme of the conference but must concern polar sciences) and will focus on presenting one's research area from a networking perspective. Sharing of research results is at the discretion of each participant.
The conference is free of charge and held in Italian, and we encourage students, PhD candidates, and research fellows/post-docs—especially in Earth, life, chemical, physical, and human sciences—to take part and present their research or project in a youthful and open environment.
Of course, the invitation is also extended to enthusiasts or anyone interested in attending as listeners to learn about recent scientific efforts in Polar Sciences.

As in previous years, the conference will be held in hybrid format:
• In-person at the University Library of Genoa
• Online, via remote connection
Even for online participation, registration through the official form is recommended so we can create a mailing list from which you will receive the access link.
Abstract Submission
Thanks to the collaboration with BELS - Bulletin of Environmental and Life Sciences, the conference proceedings will be published in a journal edited by the University of Genoa.
The abstract submission deadline is 15 September 2025.
Registration as a listener will remain open after this date.
Photography Exhibition
From 6 to 28 November, the photo exhibition "White Reflection" by Martina Tenti will be open to the public for free at the Exhibition Corridor of the University Library of Genoa.
