Association of Polar Early Career Scientists

The 2025 Arctic Science to Art (AS2A) contest has been launched and is bigger and better than ever with support from ArcticNet, the Centre for Northern Studies (CEN) and the Arctic Research Foundation. We are currently seeking applications from early career researchers based in Canada, working in the Arctic and affiliated with a Canadian institution for a chance to be paired with an northern artist and turn your work into a comic strip!

New this year: The winner will also receive a free registration waiver for the ArcticNet Annual Scientific Meeting in Calgary, Alberta, from December 15-18th, 2025, providing an exciting opportunity to connect with the broader Arctic research community and showcase the comic as part of the poster session.

To enter this contest and for more information, please visit the APECS Canada website (EN and FR) and submit:

- A 100-word plain language summary of your northern research;
- Answers to all questions in the application form;
- Include a photo of your research.

This is a wonderful opportunity for early career researchers to give back to the communities which have supported their research and to further expand the reach of this work, both with their partner community and scholarly peers. We hope to see you all apply!
