As every year, APECS Italy is organizing its National Conference, to be held on November 6th and 7th, 2025. It will be a hybrid event, taking place both in person at the University Library of Genoa (Italy) and online. This year, the conference is officially dedicated to the International Year of Glacier Conservation, which was proclaimed on January 21, 2025, by UNESCO and WMO.
The event will feature high-level speakers and experts who will make this two-day event an important opportunity for discussion and in-depth scientific research on this topic.

Individual participant presentations are open-topic (meaning they do not have to be strictly tied to the Conference theme, but they must concern polar sciences). The sessions will focus on presenting one's research area with a view toward networking. Sharing any obtained results is entirely at the participant's discretion.
The Conference is free and held in Italian. We invite students, PhD candidates, and research fellows/post-docs—especially those in Earth, Life, Chemical, Physical, and Humanistic sciences—to take part in this young and broad-reaching environment by presenting their research topic or project. Naturally, the invitation is also open to all enthusiasts and anyone interested in listening to recent scientific efforts in Polar Sciences as an attendee.
Date: 6 & 7 November 2025
