75f12c8a 4e2c 4dc4 8602 f6d327404d3bOrganizers announce the formation of the new research coordination network (RCN), Migration in Harmony: An Interdisciplinary Network in Littoral Species, Settlements, and Cultures on the Move (MiH-RCN). MiH-RCN is an international, cross-disciplinary network of Arctic migration researchers funded by the National Science Foundation. This RCN will advance knowledge on how the migrations of Arctic ecosystems, economies, peoples, and cultures interact with one another, and how the social, geohazard, and economic drivers and consequences of migrations intersect across different fields.

The network does this by:

  • Synthesizing existing data and linking ongoing initiatives to fill research gaps,
  • Implementing creative participatory methods to broaden participation in migration research, and
  • Building and supporting collaborative teams for new research projects.

MiH-RCN thrives because of the diversity of its members. To accomplish their goal, the network needs Traditional Knowledge holders, natural scientists, engineers, students, economists, social scientists, health professionals, cultural heritage workers, educators, and others to join the free network. Network membership includes a monthly newsletter to keep you informed about the network’s work including member news, exclusive publications and research, and travel opportunities to annual meetings.
