Bulgarian Antarctic Institute
Bulgarian Antarctic Institute (BAI) is the national operator of Bulgarian Antarctic activities. BAI works under patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria and organizes annual Antarctic campaigns and operates the Bulgarian Antarctic base “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Livingston Island, South Shetland Islands.
The President of the Executive Board of the Institute is prof. Christo Pimpirev.
BAI is a member of COMNAP (Council of Managers of National Antarctic Programs), SCALOP (Standing Committee on Antarctic Logistics and Operations), EPB (European Polar Board) and SCAR (Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research). -
Canadian Polar Commission
Established in 1991, the Commission is Canada’s primary polar knowledge agency and has responsibility for: monitoring, promoting, and disseminating knowledge of the polar regions (Arctic and Antarctic); contributing to public awareness of the importance of polar science to Canada; enhancing Canada’s international profile as a circumpolar nation; and advising government on matters related to the polar regions. In carrying out its mandate, the Commission builds and maintains polar knowledge networks, hosts conferences and workshops, publishes information regarding the polar regions, and works closely with other governmental and non-governmental agencies to promote and support Canadian polar knowledge.The Commission serves as Canada’s primary point of contact with the circumpolar knowledge community, and is Canada’s adhering body to the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) and the Scientific Committee for Antarctic Research (SCAR). In addition, the Commission maintains a liaison with research organizations and institutes throughout the circumpolar world, providing guidance into multilateral scientific projects relevant to Canadian interests.

Council of Managers of National Antarctic Programmes (COMNAP)
COMNAP is the international association, formed in 1988, which brings together its Members, who are the National Antarctic Programs. National Antarctic Programs are those organizations that have responsibility for delivering and supporting scientific research in the Antarctic Treaty Area on behalf of their respective governments and in the spirit of the Antarctic Treaty.COMNAP’s purpose which can be found in its Constitution is to “develop and promote best practice in managing the support of scientific research in Antarctica". It does this by:
- Serving as a forum to develop practices that improve effectiveness of activities in an environmentally responsible manner;
- Facilitating and promoting international partnerships;
- Providing opportunities and systems for information exchange; and

International Association of Cryospheric Sciences (IACS)
The objectives of the International Association of Cryospheric Sciences (IACS) are:
- to promote studies of cryospheric subsystems of the Earth solar systems
- to encourage research in the above subjects by members of the cryospheric community, national and international institutions and programmes, and individual countries through collaboration and international co-ordination
- to provide an opportunity on an international basis for discussion and publication of the results of the above research
- to promote education and public awareness on the cryosphere

The National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research in Goa, India is providing accommodation support for one summit participant from India -
National Snow and Ice Data Centre, University of Colorado, United States
The National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) supports research into our world’s frozen realms: the snow, ice, glaciers, frozen ground, and climate interactions that make up Earth’s cryosphere. NSIDC manages and distributes scientific data, creates tools for data access, supports data users, performs scientific research, and educates the public about the cryosphere.
The NSIDC is co-sponsoring a mentor attending the Summit. -
New Zealand Antarctic Research Institute (NZARI)
The New Zealand Antarctic Research Institute (NZARI) partners with research agencies to develop a global understanding of Antarctica's impacts and vulnerability in a changing global climate.
Our vision is to inform industry, government and community alike so that we can plan for impacts of change and where possible mitigate them.
Our focus is Antarctica, the Southern Ocean and the Sub-Antarctic. In particular the Ross Sea Sector, where the Southern Ocean reaches its furthest south (85oS) beneath the Ross Ice Shelf.
Funding for NZARI is sought from organisations concerned with global scale connections to Antarctica and consequences of its changing environment.
NZARI is a charitable trust.The New Zealand Antarctic Research Institute is providing partial funding support for two Summit participants from New Zealand

Norwegian Polar Institute
The Norwegian Polar Institute is Norway's central institution for research, environmental monitoring and mapping of the polar regions. The Institute is the Norwegian authorities' consultant and supplier of knowledge, and contributes to the best possible administration of Norwegian polar areas. Through active participation in national and international bodies, the Polar Institute is central when it comes to protecting national interests in matters of research and the environment. Approximately 110 persons are employed at the Institute in Tromsø, Svalbard and Dronning Maud Land.

Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR)
The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) is a committee of the International Council for Science (ICSU), that is charged with the initiation, promotion and co-ordination of scientific research in Antarctica. SCAR also provides international, independent scientific advice to the Antarctic Treaty system. To meet the objective of developing scientific capacity in all SCAR Members, especially with respect to younger scientists, and promoting the incorporation of Antarctic science in education at all levels, SCAR will take the following strategic approach:
- works towards building human and institutional capacity for Antarctic science by a variety of means;
- promotes education of the public and of students so as to increase awareness of the value of Antarctic science; and
- promotes the development of Antarctic science through appropriate means.
- provides fellowships to encourage the active involvement of early career scientists and engineers in Antarctic scientific research, and to strengthen international capacity and cooperation in Antarctic research.

Sofia University
The Sofia University is the oldest higher education institution in Bulgaria, founded on 1 October 1888. The university's edifice was constructed between 1924 and 1934 with the financial support of the brothers Evlogi Georgiev and Hristo Georgiev, whose sculptures are now featured on its facade. Sofia University is the best university in Bulgaria in National Rankings.
The University has 16 faculties and 3 departments, where 21,000 students receive their education. In addition, it also disposes of a university library, a university press, a computer center, a sports center and several other structures.Sofia University will be the venue for the APECS World Summit 2015.
