Celebrate Antarctica Day with APECS on 1 December 2021
The international polar community celebrates Antarctica Day on the 1st of December to commemorate the 61st anniversary of the Antarctic Treaty. During this year, the APECS Antarctica Day Project Group (PG) has planned a series of activities for all our members and national committees to raise awareness of the importance of Antarctica in a fast changing world.

People of all shapes and sizes are invited to participate in Arctic field work, but the work might not quite fit everyone quite as well, and sometimes that can affect the safety and wellbeing of polar researchers.
XII Workshop APECS Portugal - “An Unexpected Journey - Polar Science in a Pandemic crisis”
The XII Workshop APECS Portugal is finally here and will focus on how polar science and scientists adapted to the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic: “An Unexpected Journey - Polar Science in a Pandemic crisis”. Through a hybrid format, the event will be completely free and our objective will be to discuss the negative and positive effects of the pandemic on polar science expeditions, data collection, science outputs, networking and education; as well as lessons learned.
