he Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR), the Antarctic Environments Portal (AEP), in collaboration with Imperial College London, the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS), and the Polar Science Early Career Community Office (PSECCO) invite applications from early career researchers for a fellowship scheme to translate Antarctic science into policy relevant multimedia. We are looking for three creative and motivated fellows, each of whom will receive a USD 750 stipend, to produce short, high-quality explainers suitable for Antarctic policy audiences.

In the next edition of our “Let’s Talk…!” seminar series, we’ll dive into the essentials of data archiving – why it matters, what to archive, and how to do it right.
As every year, APECS Italy is organizing its National Conference, to be held on November 6th and 7th, 2025. It will be a hybrid event, taking place both in person at the University Library of Genoa (Italy) and online. This year, the conference is officially dedicated to the International Year of Glacier Conservation, which was proclaimed on January 21, 2025, by UNESCO and WMO.
The event will feature high-level speakers and experts who will make this two-day event an important opportunity for discussion and in-depth scientific research on this topic.

APECS fosters collaborations and exchange among its 5800+ members worldwide and serves as a critical link between polar research institutions and initiatives and the early career community. The APECS International Directorate is currently hosted by UiT The Arctic University of Norway, the Norwegian Polar Institute and the Fram Centre through the end of 2026.

The Arctic Observing Summit (AOS) is a biennial summit that aims to provide guidance based on the best available knowledge for the design, implementation, coordination and sustained long-term (decades) operation of an international network of Arctic observing systems. The AOS provides a platform to foster international communication and the widespread coordination of long-term observations aimed at improving understanding and responding to system-scale Arctic change.
The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) is looking for an early career researcher to join the Organizing Committee for the AOS 2026 and be actively involved in this committee alongside Axel Schlindwein from the APECS International Directorate.
